Birthday Cupcakes for School

I thought it'd be fun to share some pictures of the flower cupcakes that I made for Laela's school party.  I made tulips for her classmates, and a pink rose for her.

Laela and I decided to make Kyle a welcome home cake with the leftover icing.  Pink tulips and butterflies are definitely fitting for a "We love Daddy" cake, don't you think?

  1. These a beautiful! Where did you get your icing skills? I want to learn that so badly.

  2. Thank you so much!!! I worked in a bakery for almost ten years, and have made cakes since! : ) Opening my own bakery when we settle down in a few years is one of my goals!

If you want to learn, pick up a Wilton book. It's probably the easiest way to teach yourself!

  3. OK, I will! I was thinking about taking a class or something, like from Micahel's crafts. But, on the other hand, if I do that, I'm likely to eat a lot of icing.

  4. I've never taken any of those classes, but one of the women that taught me when I was a teenager actually learned there! You have to start somewhere. If you're the kind of person who learns by seeing someone else do it, you might want to try that : )
